Kelly Kentucky Incident

We share this universe with many living beings, some known and many unknown. While science still struggles to keep a record of all living beings, there is a vast number of creatures that science still hasn’t been able to discover. All we have are the witnesses, stories, and reports of unknown creatures that have been sighted. While most of them have been claimed as hoaxes, a question appears. How can so many witnesses be wrong? Among all the encounters with ghosts, faeries, demons, and other creatures, there is one creature that takes lead above all. Aliens! That is right! Aliens…the green creatures with bulging eyes and two antennas above the heads. While it might seem like a work of fiction that has been commonly utilized, one would wonder where the real concept of these beings came from. Why green? Or why the ones with bulging eyes?

To find that out, you would have to read an incident that will chill your spine. It was a fateful day of 21st August 1955, one that would mark the most historical moments of humanity discovering other beings whom we share universe with. The critics would deny the evidence but when a few children and women and a man with pulse of 140 per minute run to a police station at 11 pm, something has definitely happened. According to the policemen, those weren’t the kind of people reaching to the police. Yet, the police met women and children along with a man, all struck with hysteria.

On that night, nearly a dozen members of a farm family known as Suttsons family arrived at that police station named Hopkinsville Police Station in Southwest Kentucky. What could be the reason that an entire family had arrived at such a late hour to a police station? All of them were breathless, behaving like they had seen a ghost. They actually had seen something like a ghost. The story that the family told of a terrifying encounter would soon become a national as well as international news. This story would then inspire many cartoons and later films to feature the otherworldly beings.

What makes this spine-chilling story a cut above others is the amount of detail the family told. So many witnesses couldn’t lie! The family was quite terrified. Encountering something like that for a few hours would do that to you. Especially if you lived on a bewildered farm, you would be genuinely terror-struck if you encountered something so terrifying.

The incident took place in a churchless small settlement of Kelly Kentucky, one that struck terror into a heart of an extended family. The family of near eight adults and three children lived in a three-room unpainted house with basic facilities available to them. One would emphasize that the entire family might have been lying about the incident that shook them to the core. Yet, so many people couldn’t lie in front of the police.

It was a hot Sunday, one that would require a family member named Billy Ray Taylor to fetch water from the backyard well. That was when the most terrifying, yet wonderful thing happened. He witnessed something silvery. Its shine reminded him of colors of rainbow as it hovered in the air, passing over the house and finally landing on the ground. It was a UFO that Billy had encountered.

21-year-old Billy was visiting the Suttsons family with his eighteen-year-old wife. He quickly went inside the house, explaining his encounter with the flying object that couldn’t be identified. Naturally, the family laughed, blaming him for drinking too much. Why on earth would such an object would be sighted like that? In the middle of nowhere? This small community was a hamlet where such an incident was uncommon.

However, soon, the entire family along with the visiting couple would be regretting making fun of Billy. Their experiences would soon be remembered, documented and told in news. After an hour, the dogs around the farm started barking, their sounds soon becoming unceasing. That could mean only one thing! Something had happened nearby. Had something happened? Did something so grave occur that the dogs sensed it and couldn’t stop barking?

That was when Billy’s doubts resurfaced. He convinced the family head Lucky Suttson whom he worked with in a travelling carnival to investigate. Lucky Suttson agreed, accompanying his working fellow Billy to the back door. There, through the opening, they witnessed something that would remain with them their entire lives.

Through some distance, there was a strange glow. And the source of that glow seemed to be a humanoid! It almost looked human. Right until one would notice its abnormal features. The head was large and perfectly round. The thin arms extended till the ground, the arms having claws instead of hands. What that family could never forget was the yellow glowing eyes on that perfectly round and oversized head. It was source of that strange glow. Within the night of a new moon, you could easily spot a glowing creature, slowly creeping towards your house. A frightening aspect! The family described that creature’s glow as silver, as if it was made up entirely of it.

These were the kind of people who reached to their guns before reaching out to the police. The two men grabbed their guns, ready to fire at this creature that came towards their house. The claws in place of hands were raised, as if trying to do something. They were terrified, shooting at the instantly. That was when they discovered it was resistant to the bullets, moving in an unnatural manner. It did a flip and something like a scramble, before disappearing into the darkness.

What was that they had just witnessed? The aspect of something otherworldly and terrifying appear like that at their back door was frightening! And to think that the bullets did nothing to keep those creatures away. Anytime, they could come and do whatever they had come here for.

Their troubles didn’t end at the back door. The creature made its appearance again, to the side window. Through there, the two men again fired multiple shots at that creature. And again, they were met with disappointment. The being simply evaded their shots, flipping in an unnatural manner and disappearing once again, leaving behind a family of immensely terrified people.

It still didn’t end there. The strange chill in the air was present and those creatures could still be felt near. The family was stranded. Who were those terrifying beings? What did they want? Taylor decided to investigate as he came at the front door, coming under the overhanging roof of the house. That was when the most terrifying thing happened!

Some said it was a talon of a bird. Others called it claw. Whatever it was, it reached down from there, touching Taylor’s hair. Could it have been waiting there all this time? Ready to pounce at whoever was going to come out? Whatever it was, it surely wasn’t an encouraging sight. The family panicked, pulling Taylor inside. Lucky Suttson shot that hand. That was when something glowing crawled in the tree…something glowing and equally terrifying. The family surely wasn’t going to take any chances as they shot that creature too. It simply landed on ground, scramming into the woods nearby.

They were still there, their intentions unknown and their presence chilling the family members to the bone. They made a few scratches on the rooftop. Near 11 p.m. the sounds completely went silent, encouraging the family to run to the cars and finally make their way to the police station. The matter was completely out of their hands now.

They were received by the policemen who soon took a liking to their stories. They assembled a group, joined by another military group of police and a photographer. The police found nothing. Gun shells were found, indicating that the family did indeed fire shots. But where were those silver men they claimed to have seen? No one could find that.

Resident Evil Village – The Shady Lady Villains

Before we head onto the details and start getting chased by Lady Dimitrescu, I must warn you of the MASSIVE SPOILERS. Technically, the game isn’t released yet. However, there are hints, enticing details, and some flashes released by the game studio. After all, they are keeping us hooked and hyped for the climax. And we love em for that! It is set to release on May 7th, 2021.

This time, what Resident Evil has brought forth is the gorgeous female villains. We cannot get enough of them. I know I can’t. I practically drool over Lady Dimirescu every time I see her finger blades embedding into the camera in a cutscene. And she isn’t the only deadly beauty that can make short work of you. So, who are these female villains?

Tall Vampire Lady

FREE HORROR Lady-calling Resident Evil Village – The Shady Lady Villains

Mother Miranda…I regret to inform you that Ethan Winters has escaped that fool Heisengberg. Because he is in my castle and has already proven too much for my daughters to handle. When I find him…”

The internet has created dozens of memes about Lady Dimitrescu and her three witch daughters. She is honestly gorgeous. Deadly…as well as enthralling. First time I saw her…I was simply dazed by her. Her name is equivalent to the maiden’s blood and being a badass villain isn’t the only thing she excels at. Lady is an excellent winemaker too!

She is actually a persistent boss who hounds you around. We all know for sure that she is very tall, practically towering over poor short Ethan. And she is a vampire. I am afraid at this point we can all speculate. First, let us focus on the phone call she makes.

She talks to someone named Mother Miranda…that is right! Her mother! So, this charming lady that can easily make short work of you isn’t the biggest evil. This Mother Miranda is the one. She further talks about her brother, whom we can guess isn’t a normal chap either. Both siblings are monsters, her brother of course being far less charming than her.

Secondly, the lady Dimitrescu cannot keep tabs on absolutely everything that transpires in her castle. She guesses that Ethan has escaped and is rummaging around her stuff…shooting her pets and daughters. Avoiding big charming woman…what an idiot!

One thing that absolutely beguiled me was the richness of the lore. There are four houses, one of which belongs to Lady Dimirescu. Means there are other three houses and we are not even talking about full extent. That Mother Miranda is bound to fit somewhere too. Maybe as head of those four houses.

The Lovely Witches!

There are three witches. And the entire lore and gameplay seems to be inspired by the Dracula and his three brides. Here, they added just a bit of twist.

Witches in the world of the resident evil village are simply mutants. Boy, are they sadistic! They practically love inflicting violence over petty matters. To make matters worse, the castle had…human servants. A fodder for cruel games of both Lady Dimirescu and the three witches who even went as far as slicing the face of their servants. Although we have only limited knowledge, we surely can speculate that they appear as villains. Having powers such as exploding into thousands of blood-thirsty insects and appearing randomly at any place at any time, they surely prove to be formidable foes. Of course our hero Ethan Winters gives them a tough time so they are not invincible. They throw their blood-thirsty chase to the entire mix of horror elements, adding to the spooky environment.

Mother Miranda

To be honest, I don’t think the mother of that vampire lady might be gorgeous. For all I can think, she might actually be an old hag. But then…age is pretty tricky factor among vampires. Heck, she might even appear younger than her daughter.

We know or at least can speculate that she is the big bad. Or close to it. And there is a ceremony involved, the true importance of which only she knows. We might very well have a reason to believe that she is the main boss, controlling everything from behind the scenes.

Resident Evil 3 Remake- Mistake or Masterpiece?

(This article is for those gamers who have actually played the game…spoiler warning!)

I still remember the time when I was a little kid. Life was pretty good. All I had to worry about was going to home from school and turning on my pc. And the moment the desktop screen showed up, I always clicked on the icon named “resident evil 2”. Jill Valentine was practically my heroin as well as a crush. Who wouldn’t love a woman who kicks ass and at the same time, also reveals some of her vulnerability! I loved how Leon was being a kickass police officer, managing to escape the hordes of those zombies. All this mess created by that notorious umbrella corporation.

Unlike the people who only play it for fun, I was actually quite in the story. Part of my childhood memories were formed around this game. How I used to see my character in my place, getting trapped among those zombies and how the aspect of playing the next level kept me awake at night. Time passed, and I kept following where the franchise the headed. Resident Evil 3 came…then 4 and then 5th installment. Believe me…like many fans I was heart broken to see blonde haired Jill Valentine acting as villain. Until I had a moment of phew when Chris literally knocked some sense into her with his new partner in crime, Sheva. I loved how they

Moving on, following resident evil 6 and 7, we moved forward, finally approaching the notorious year of 2020. I got to admit. Amidst the chaos initially unleashed by coronavirus pandemic, our hearts were already shaken. Ever since the quarantine began from march, we had been shaken from the coronavirus. It was a frightening aspect to witness something like that collapsing our economies and pushing us to experience moments of isolation. We were tucked up in our houses with our loved ones and we experienced firsthand the pandemic situation. Not something we would ever enjoy…

That was when I finally heard that Capcom had rebooted the resident evil 3 and were launching them. It was fifth April when I got the DVD. I must say that my neighbor who had started playing flashy kids games had made the right decision. Just imagine… I turn on the PC, install the game and then launch it.

A bit about the game

Here is how it starts. A reporter is telecasting that the global pandemic has spread worse than they had imagined. Buildings are crashing down and there is chaos everywhere. That was the situation before the zombies showed up. Imagine now some human eating creatures running rampant…what a way to improve the pandemic’s situation. When I had said that I wanted to take my mind off the coronavirus pandemic, this was not what I had in my mind. Capcom has the ability to produce the addictive content based on the current crisis. Back in my childhood, this aspect was awesome and frightening. Back to this 2020’s version of me, this was outright horrifying. And somewhat…interesting as well as addictive!

Then the zombies start showing up and all hell starts breaking loose in the resident evil 3. There is one wonderful aspect that other gamers don’t like. Some people like me have spent their entire childhoods escaping that horrifying creature that chases Jill Valentine till the ends of the Racoon City. Some of us resident evil addicts saw that familiarity with old elements packed in new environments. I must say that is not something everyone likes. I mean I am like the fan of the franchise like every other fan out there but to me, still keeping the defining feature of remake to be that ionic creature chasing Jill is epic! They managed to keep something that we have been playing and at the same time, they ended up changing everything. The game is indeed a masterpiece. It is visually stunning, throwing you into nostalgia every time you pass through a street and remember its version in original game. Changing something while keeping its essence same requires a lot of master-planning.

Some folks come with a lot of expectations from game like how it was supposed to be and how it was not. I just gotta say that I respect everyone’s opinions, but I recognize effort as well as a masterpiece when I see one. Resident Evil 3 remake had tones of changes to fit more realistic model of game’s characters as well as to introduce things that made sense.

Changes in Jill Valentine

Coming towards the game’s model of Jill Valentine, I got to say they did their homework on what makes a character, true protagonist. I mean if we compare notes, the Jill of resident evil 2 original version really was just a video game character that didn’t have much of personality. Now this Jill! This one is fire! How so? Let me explain.

Let us start with her voice acting. I must admit, when I heard someone new voicing my childhood crush, I was kind of surprised. I mean this franchise is known for holding on to the old voice characters. Then why did they switch? It is not a bad change and the voice actress behind Jill’s voice in the game has done similar roles before. She did her part too well. In case you are wondering, her name is Nicole Tompkins.

FREE HORROR e3a4813e-re3_jill_shotgun-1024x576 Resident Evil 3 Remake- Mistake or Masterpiece?

Let us come towards the outfit. I must say, the old skirt didn’t make much sense to me. Like really! Imagine running around in that skirt and managing to perform all sorts of actions in them. To me, it was kind of a surprise. Luckily, they fixed it. They replaced it with jeans and a blue tank top. Those who didn’t like the changes in her outfit, please give me a way to jump, kickass and perform stunts while wearing a skirt. I bet you can’t!

A Russian model named Sasha Zotova was chosen to be her face model. Quite a smart move Capcom! What better way to make realistic graphics than to actually use the real people? This was very refreshing to me to experience a realistic Jill Valentine.

The game designers also didn’t keep some of the elements of original version. I guess in my opinion, some of the old elements of the games are no longer relevant when we want a remake with respect to the current year. One of the most visible changes was that she didn’t go to the police department.

Coming towards dialogues, I believe once again Capcom made the right decision by giving her a livelier outlook. She is a living person that reacts to the situations. Every time the nemesis shows up, her reaction is something natural. Similarly, she is shown to have a personality that defies the grim nature of the situation is kind of refreshing. If I was back to my childhood, I would have been heads over heels for this version of Jim.

I don’t know why they changed the starting though. I actually loved the original version in which the game starts as she is with an NPC who has lost his daughter. Kind of makes things tenser. In this version, she is seeing a nightmare and then wakes up in her apartment. Still terrifying but the original one took the lead in this scenario.

FREE HORROR resident-evil-3-remake-gets-a-demo-later-this-week-1024x576 Resident Evil 3 Remake- Mistake or Masterpiece?

Now let us come more towards her personality. Sorry to disappoint some of the classic Jill lovers but she didn’t have much of a distinct personality in original series. This is coming from a diehard fan of resident evil. She is sarcastic, irritable and that is what makes her standout. Now imagine that along with the inner rebellion which defies the direness of situation. You get a perfect heroin that kicks ass and stands out from others. She is not the damsel running from that evil nemesis. She is confident and far smarter whose every escape actually makes sense now.

The last aspect is something that makes Jill truly a living breathing human. She has trauma…something that was never even mentioned in original games. Like seriously…someone who has held her own against hordes of zombies and was forced to slay the undead creatures that were once humans must have grief. She struggles with nightmares in which she is seeing herself transforming into one of those zombies she has been killing. This is something that shows the mentality of someone who has been through such ordeal and survived.

Fast Paced Gameplay

I really love solving puzzles. But let’s face it. Who doesn’t like a direct game that lets you be just a killer of zombies for a change. I would want to vent and take charge for a while. It might actually be a biased opinion but the reason why we would want to play games is to take control of something interesting and epic. I absolutely loved the remake of resident evil 2 and how it delivered the stunning essence while changing a few details neatly. However, if you are stuck on a puzzle or a nasty level, you would feel a bit irritated. I mean I do. You can say the survival aspect of resident evil 3 remake is a little bit easier in a sense that ammunition is plenty. Unlike the previous remake, this one doesn’t focus much on solving puzzles and doing intellectual stuff.

There is one thing was kind of lost. I guess it was because original is still original.

Nemesis didn’t feel like a threat that could emerge out of anywhere. It had a few jump scare sequences and a few boss fights which weren’t quite hard in my opinion. However, perhaps we already knew that nemesis was going to be Jill Valentine’s biggest threat. Heck it was the defining feature of the original one. How could it not be the same in this remake too? So, it kind of lost that first time introducing “ever present threat” status. I really missed getting chased by that creature while doing stuff or trying to get away from it. I guess we were already expecting that the nemesis was the big bad of this remake and it kind of took the unexpected. Furthermore, I wished they hadn’t introduced the jump scares. I mean I loved them. But jump scares is kind of a thing that has become signature within all resident evil series. Especially in resident evil 7. Still, Capcom manages to deliver them in an amazing thrilling manner. So, no complaints really!

The game follows somewhat a linear structure. As I explained earlier, the famous police station is gone now from the remake. You can’t go there anymore. The focus is on Jill Valentine and I guess the lack of flexibility in the game design and playthrough was kind of expected. Like really! Somethings are mirrored as it is from the resident evil 2 remake. However, the creepy environment sometimes goes missing. Imagine getting through the stairs and seeing a bright donut shop’s billboard along with other colorful billboards around. It kind of made me feel that if zombies were absent, it would actually be a depiction of colorful city night.

Parts which are Different

For some, the lack of flexibility in the remake is what makes it feel like an expansion of resident evil 2 remake which I heartily disagree with. It kind of feels like a continuation but storyline is very different and I personally am not bothered by the linear stages. In original resident evil 3 nemesis, you chose your path and got different ending. But that is not the case here. For some, this may risk disappointment.

Then, coming towards other elements of the story, the gameplay is obviously much different. You don’t have fixed camera anymore. The story is a changed version of its original part. The story choices that you wanted to make in resident evil 3 nemesis aren’t present here anymore. Your pathway is linear and inflexible. Most of the puzzles have been removed and you no longer get the giant worm boss fight.

Final Verdict

I must say, it is thoroughly entertaining game if you play it. The remake is not exactly how the original was. It has its differences, but it makes up for them in form of other perks and advantages. They have worked really hard on this game and if you keep playing it, you will find many things to enjoy. Overall, it is thoroughly entertaining. Just don’t go around expecting everything to be like the original nemesis.

Dangerous Ties

Her figure was frozen solid, the spine chilling with fear unknown. The hair stood on the back of her neck. It was just a normal evening. She wished she hadn’t taken today off from the work. If she had, she wouldn’t have to witness the horror that laid there.

She tried to scream. The sound didn’t come, her throat giving up. Tears filled her eyes as she saw the ruby textured liquid, oozing out of that figure lying on her bathroom floor. It formed a pool around the corpse, staining the tiles of her bathroom floor. Where had this come from? Where had he come from?

Only one word rang through her mind. Poor man! Whoever he was. Too bad she didn’t know him or even witnessed what happened. All she knew was binge watching the Netflix, trying to forget the breakup she had recently suffered from her narcissistic boyfriend. He had been threatening her with all sorts of nonsense which she had reported to police. She had taken a day off today, recovering from all the petty discussions about that so-called previous lover. Right now, the only thing that was in her mind was to binge watch a series. That fateful moment, she felt her face getting dry. The thermostat was warmer than usual. She had to get up and go to the washroom, get a splash and come back to her series she had been watching.

That was when she got up in her comfortable pink night suit, putting on sandals and moving towards the bathroom on the second floor. That was when she found out that horrendous murder…taken place in her apartment without her knowledge.

She pitied him, whoever he was. His face was not there, just a mangled mess of flesh and bones with the rest of the body intact. He was tortured first, before that knife in his heart finally did the end trick.

She was horrified the moment she turned on the light of the bathroom. The scent of blood was too strong as it mixed up with the strong scent of shampoo. If she hadn’t put hand on her mouth, she would have thrown up instantly.

She got out of there, vomiting twice…thrice…four times…five times in a row. Her heart beat faster and heavy sweat poured out of her brows. That was not something you would take lightly.

It took her half an hour to get herself back to her sane state. Not that she was back to the casual state before. She couldn’t! But she had managed to scream, cry and decided to call for help, like any sane person would do. Who was that boy murdered in her bathroom? And could the killer be still lurking around?

She picked up the phone, intending to call the police. She needed safety and above all, she needed to report this crime. Whoever had killed that victim in her bathroom could also come after her. He might very well be hiding in her house…

She shivered at the prospect, screaming and grabbing her phone while running out of her apartment. The flaws of living alone in a newly formed apartment building were now starting to dawn on her. She was alone…one the fifth floor where she lived alone in this apartment.

Running out of her apartment, she cleared her head, nearly throwing up once more. Her state was disturbed beyond limit and she didn’t know if she could take it anymore.

A thought roamed through her mind and she shivered…what if the police found her guilty? The knife in that victim’s chest was her kitchen knife and soon, the police would find her fingerprints too…

She shivered at the thought. Who could she trust now? Not the police! She pictured herself begging to get away from the accusations they were throwing on her.

A word reverberated in her mind and she soon dialed the number. Brian! Her neighbor! The sweetest and kindest person you would ever meet. Like her, he lived alone, and he knew her too well. In fact, she had spent many nights alone with him when her apartment was not confirmed. He was literally the kind of guy you would feel safe with.

She dialed his number, crying on spot.

“Amanda, is everything okay? Why are you crying?”

“Brian! There…is a dead guy in my bathroom! I…if I call police, they will accuse me! Damn I was there when it happened! The killer might still be around!”

“I am coming!”

She dropped the phone. She was too afraid to notice a certain calm in Brian’s accent. How could he be so calm? Or was that his style of talking? She couldn’t give it much thought. There were bigger concerns in her mind right now.

The moment she saw Brian on her floor was when she finally let out cries. He held her, hugging her as she wept on his shoulder.

“Calm down Amanda. Don’t worry! We will do something. We need to get rid of the William’s body!” he spoke, his accent still calm.

William? That was her boyfriend! The narcissistic William who was threatening her all the way! He had promised that he would come for her, killing her on the spot. She had reported his threats to the police. But how did Brian….

“Brian…I didn’t know it was…how do you?” she tried to ask him. He was standing there, brooding over her.

“I had once a sister just like you. She was also in love with a bastard who didn’t take it well when she saw through his manipulations. He killed her mercilessly! I then paid him a visit and returned the favor. He was much like Williams…

Today, I saw William today as he entered the apartment. He was still talking to you while holding a gun. Rest assured he will not bother you again Amanda…now…let us take care of the body!” Brian spoke with dead calm accent.

Smiling Man

Jerry had arrived at the gas station. This was a long drive on an unknown pathway. When he had arrived here, he had imagined the destination to be quite short. However, he had been mistaken. The road itself was rough and the pathway was mostly neglected. Few ever passed through here and fewer even mentioned this place. What was so odd about it?

He knew that to reach his destination, this place was a shortcut. However, shivers were sent down his spine the moment he mentioned this road to others. The bartender warned him not to traverse this road.

He was quite relieved to have found a gas station in the middle of seemingly abandoned road. It was quite a pleasant surprise. His truck was running out of gas and he also needed to eat. The motels around the gas station provided satisfactory meals, enough to fill his stomach. That was all he cared about. He could have his fill of the delicious cuisines later when he had arrived his destination.

FREE HORROR maxresdefault-2-1024x576 Smiling Man

He got down from the truck, now moving towards that fellow in his uniform. Apparently, the gas station was always working.

“Hey! Fill this baby up!” he spoke to that worker whose eyes looked like they had seen a ghost. Why? Jerry wondered.

“Sir, why are you here? Please don’t go down that road. Please leave this place and never come back!” the worker spoke as he cleared his throat. What the hell was going on?!

“Hey man! Please fill the truck! I am going to pay you!” he spoke once more before the worker gave a creepy smile. He was forced to do so…Jerry could tell.

That was when he felt smiling back at him. His face muscles were aching after a long drive and he didn’t want to even talk more than necessary. However, he himself was surprised. Where had this smile come from? It was like he was forced to smile against his will.

That was when he saw the silhouette of that figure, dancing at some distance. Jerry could tell there were others around too, hiding in the motel, watching him from distance. He could see a lot more of them, all hiding in bushes and within that shop neighboring the gas station. They were all…smiling!

He focused his gaze on that dancing figure at some distance, his body giving in to the rhythms of the wild movements he was making. Was that dance…? He headed straight towards him as Jerry got to look at his face.

“He will make you his puppet…run away!” the worker spoke before his eyes teared up.

The dancing man at some distance came nearer and nearer, his eyes all black and wide, his mouth showing the wide teeth clearly. Tall, creepy and covered in a black suit that revealed his stick thin figure…

That was enough for Jerry as he turned back and started running. Those screams turning into laughing sounds followed him. He managed to make it to the truck…Almost…

That was when he felt his face smiling, his insides rebelling against him…he felt his entire body being lifted and thrown away from that truck of his. His face kept smiling and laughing as he saw that creepy tall man standing at him…smiling!

Boogeyman

The sky had a moonless night, the gusts of wind blowing through this half-abandoned town. There at the corner, there stood a mansion in that street of houses. Considering how many people had left this place, this street with the mansion was one of the few that had still people living in them.

He was present in his room, watching something on the television. That was the only thing he could do to kill time. The boredom was too much. As he looked outside the window, the skeletal trees at some distance sent a chill through his spine.

He never understood why his dad had come to this place. The townspeople were quite few and those who lived here weren’t friendly at all. Apparently, the company his dad worked for was doing a survey for this half-abandoned town, wondering why others hadn’t invested here. The town could be a potentially resourceful place for their extraction sites.  Well, that was what his dad had told him. For him, he always felt as if this place was filled with creeps.

The street he lived in was quite dark and grim. The houses in there were old, mostly abandoned. In a street of twenty houses, only six were inhabited. The rest were ancient and the folks that once lived there had moved to another place. Seven out of thirty streets were inhabited, the rest with mostly empty houses.

Whatever the reason was, he knew it wasn’t a good one. No one ever talked about why the town was mostly empty of people. He had tried to ask his dad over the dinner table and all his dad could tell was an ancient bedtime story people here used to tell. Apparently, the people told tales of a faceless man that was tall and towered over an average heighted man, dressed in slender suit. All nonsense tales, his dad told him.

Currently, as the night fell over this town, he felt quite safe in his bedroom, tucked in that comforter on his bed, eating cheese crackers while watching his favourite Netflix show. He didn’t wish to look outside the window. Cold wind was blowing, and the trees gave off a scary vibe, their branches moving in wind as if they were alive. He had been living in the city for his entire life and he knew how the trees normally moved in the wind. Here, they didn’t move like that at all…

The show was quite interesting and soon, he found his attention immersed into that silly TV serials. Before he could react to that main character’s humorous comments, the TV got shut down. Odd! Very odd!

He could have sworn that at the corner of his eyes, he had seen a flicker…a dark shadow moving. He simply ignored, calling it a trick of the light. He had to… in truth he was scared.

The problem couldn’t be found. The cable of the TV was intact and plugged into the socket. Why had it turned off? He wondered with frustration. There was no answer to this dilemma! As he tried to check the socket, he realized that the socket was busted. A burning smell could be felt in the air. A fried socket…that was what had been the cause of that TV turning off like that.

Extra socket was in that closet. That was when he heard that strange clicking sound in that closet. It was quite odd! A clicking sound coming from the closet? He felt fear in his heart…could the tales be true?

Nonsense! No such thing was possible! He moved to the closet, ready to take out that socket and change it. He had learned some of the electrical work when he was in previous town. He knew very well how to deal with a fried socket.

As he opened the closet, he realized a gust of wind passed, touching his face. This was quite a frightening thought. How could a gust of wind blow in a closed room?

He looked at the closet’s right most corner, to find something that froze his blood. A human head…no…something that looked like a human head without skin and yellow glowing eyes…its ominous head tilted to his direction! He screamed and screamed at the top of his lungs!
